She graduated from Plovdiv English Language School. Ms. Miteva proceeded with her education at the University of National and World Economy, where she gained a MA degree in Macroeconomics (1989). She is fluent in English and speaks good Russian.As of October 2003 Ms. Miteva  has been a Member of the Management Board and Executive Director of DSK Bank.
